BOOKING
Booking can be made by telephone or by contacting Meyer Travel in writing and is binding for both parties when the deposit/trip price has been paid. By paying the deposit/trip price, the customer confirms to have accepted the stated terms for the trip as well as Meyer Travel’s travel regulations. The price of the trip includes the services mentioned on the invoice. It is important that the names of participants are given exactly as stated in the passport. Meyer Travel assumes no responsibility for problems and additional costs resulting from incorrectly entered names. SECURITY DEPOSIT When booking, a deposit can be charged for the journey. For certain travel arrangements, stricter rules apply, which will be stated at the time of booking. If the deposit is not paid on time, Meyer Travel is entitled to cancel the agreement. If you wish to purchase additional cancellation insurance that covers in connection with an acute medically documented illness, it must be paid together with the deposit.
REMAINING PAYMENT
The remaining amount must be paid on the date specified on the invoice (as a general rule 45 days before departure). For certain travel arrangements, stricter rules apply, which will be stated at the time of booking. When booking less than 45 days before departure, the entire amount is due for payment at the time of booking. If the payment conditions are not respected, Meyer Travel can cancel the trip and has the right to payment of the amount that is lost according to the rules on cancellation.
TRANSFER
Transferring the trip to another person is considered a cancellation and a new booking. See the section on cancellation.
CANCELLATION
If canceled more than 45 days before departure, the deposit is lost together with any fees from our business partners. In case of cancellation less than 45 days before the departure date, the traveler is not entitled to compensation, as agreements regarding hotel reservations, car hire, golf, excursions etc. has restrictive provisions. The same applies to airline tickets, which must be paid for and issued at the time of ordering, after which they cannot be changed or refunded.
We recommend taking out cancellation insurance, which covers cancellation in the event of an acute medically documented illness, death or accident of the travel participant himself or the immediate family. The cancellation insurance must be ordered at the same time as the trip and paid at the same time as the deposit. The amount cannot be claimed back.
If you have booked a hotel/golf course where payment must be made directly to the individual hotel/golf course, their cancellation conditions apply.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is important to have good travel insurance with you on your trip. Meyer Travel works together with “Gouda Rejseforsikring”, which offers very advantageous insurance products. Our booking managers advise and ensure that you get the right insurance. The travel insurance must be paid for when booking the trip, and cannot be purchased later.
CHANGE OF NAME
For changes to confirmed reservations, if possible, a fee of EUR 70 per change
plus a possible fee to the supplier. Certain flights and arrangements cannot be changed and are considered a cancellation and a new booking.
REFUND OF UNUSED SERVICES
Reimbursement of unused services cannot normally take place. In the event of a refund, a
fee of EUR 70 per performance.
ITINERARY, CHECK-IN TIMES, ETC.
The times listed in the itinerary are local times. Changes may occur in the timetables after the time of booking, and it is therefore important that the departure times in the forwarded tickets etc. are checked carefully. If there are discrepancies between the tickets and the itinerary, please contact us immediately. Normally, check-in at the airport must be done no later than two hours before departure, and we recommend that you show up at the airport in good time. Some companies require earlier check-in, which will appear in the itinerary.
CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES BEFORE DEPARTURE
If Meyer Travel has to cancel the trip or cannot carry out the trip as agreed, the customer will be informed as soon as possible and informed of his rights.
If Meyer Travel changes to the agreement are significant, or if the trip is canceled without this being due to the customer’s circumstances, the customer has the following rights:
The customer can cancel the agreement and have all amounts paid in accordance with the agreement (but not cancellation insurance) refunded, or
The customer can participate in another package tour of his choice, if the travel agency can offer this without disproportionate costs or losses
The customer must notify Meyer Travel of the choice within a reasonable time after notification of the changes has been received by the customer. If the customer chooses to participate in a package tour of a higher value, the customer must pay the price difference. If the package tour has a lower value than the one originally ordered, the travel agency must, on the other hand, refund the customer the price difference.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
We try to accommodate special requests from the customer as far as possible. However, Meyer Travel cannot under any circumstances guarantee the fulfillment of such special wishes and cannot be held responsible for non-fulfilment of these.
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER
The traveler is obliged to:
To ensure that you have a valid passport and the visas and vaccinations that are necessary for the completion of the journey. The passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after returning home.
To react if the travel documents are not received within 7 days before departure
To check that all names on tickets and other travel documents match the passport.
To meet on time at the places and times indicated in the itinerary or by other clear instructions for the outward and return journey and otherwise comply with the rules of order that apply to hotels, golf courses, means of transport, etc.
To behave in such a way that fellow travelers do not feel bothered. In serious cases, this may lead to the organizer or his representative expelling the traveler from further participation.
To comply with the rules specified by the organizer for reconfirmation of scheduled flights that are part of individual trips and package trips without tour guide assistance. Failure to confirm (reconfirmation) means that the airlines participating in the transport have the right to dispose of the space to the other side. In such cases, the customer cannot claim against either the organiser, the intermediary or the airline for the consequences caused by the failure to comply with the reconfirmation. It will be clear from the itinerary whether reconfirmation is required.
To keep informed about return times in the event that you have booked a tour on your own or for other reasons have removed yourself from your travel group.
To provide the contact information necessary for Meyer Travel to contact you both before and during the trip
PASSPORT, VISAS AND VACCINATION
You must always carry a valid passport, regardless of where the journey goes. We point out that a Danish foreigner’s passport is not considered an ordinary passport, and that you must contact the embassy of the destination in good time for any special visa regulations.
It is required in some countries that the passport upon entry is valid for 6 months after returning home. Before booking the trip, foreign nationals should investigate any visa and passport requirements, as Meyer Travel’s information only applies to persons with a Danish passport. See more info at www.um.dk. You yourself are obliged to check whether vaccinations are merely recommended or mandatory. This can be done at your own doctor or at Rejseklinikken at www.rejseklinikken.dk or +45 39 63 01 15.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH REQUIREMENTS
If the requirements for passports, visas or vaccinations, specifying the correct name on travel documents and review of the customer’s responsibilities are not complied with, the customer cannot assert a claim either against Meyer Travel, the intermediary or the sub-supplier for the package tour for the consequences, deficiencies, inconveniences or losses which the lack of compliance with the customer’s general duties entails.
ORGANIZER’S RESPONSIBILITY
Meyer Travel acts as an agent for the used airlines, hotels, golf courses, car rental companies and other business partners. According to the Package Travel Act, Meyer Travel is responsible for completing the trip according to the agreement confirmation. Meyer Travel’s liability for defects and damage to persons and property is limited to the compensation amounts stipulated in international conventions that apply to the service providers who can be charged for the defective part of the package tour, and can never exceed the liability of our subcontractors. In the case of international air and sea transport, this liability is limited to the amount resulting from the Warsaw Convention / Montreal Convention etc. Meyer Travel assumes no responsibility for defects, losses and changes, as a result of breach of agreement, strikes, weather or other similar force majeure conditions, over which Meyer Travel has no influence and which Meyer Travel did not have the opportunity to when entering into the agreement to anticipate, mitigate or avert.
COMPLAINT
Complaints about deficiencies in the journey must be reported to us immediately after the deficiency has been identified, so that Meyer Travel and any business partners have the opportunity to remedy the deficiency immediately. Claims regarding defects that could not be remedied on site must be received by Meyer Travel in writing as soon as possible after the end of the trip with proof of the claim. If the complaint cannot be resolved to the customer’s satisfaction, the complaint can be submitted to the Travel Complaints Board
